College Interviews!

I know I have been doing a lot of talking about high school, SATs, college etc. etc. without a lot of real life anecdotes- as opposed to vague allusions- to back anything up. Part of that's on purpose. I like to keep my personal life somewhat mysterious, and especially everything surrounding university/life beyond 14, 15, 16, 17. There are already enough kids applying as it is.    Anyway, a question I've seen a lot is what do you wear for a college interview? Having already been on 3 in the past two weeks, I now consider myself a seasoned veteran. I wore a variation of this outfit to all three interviews. By variation I mean: I bought two floral pants last spring, and I own two gray sleeveless blouses like this one here, and mixed them each time. The jewelry changed as well. Considering none of the schools I am applying to are fashion schools, I tried to tone down any sort of "ohmygod she's such a style blogger" feeling and just focus on keeping it classic,

Visited the Getty on Saturday with James and my newly moved-back-to-LA cousin Taylor just in time to see Klimt's Line Drawing exhibition before it left. The Getty is a magical place. If you don't like the art, then admire the exterior design. If you don't like the exterior design, then admire the art. Personally, I visit the Getty for the architecture, and stay for the art. Shakuhachi leather shorts, vintage bralettes, Marc by Marc Jacobs studded bag, Elizabeth and James onyx ring . The Cousin, scoping out shooting locales. She's wearing Supergas and a vintage dress. My favorite statue in the whole place. Completely whimsical- reminds me of a pixie or sprite. James, iPhone-ing it up. She's wearing a vintage jacket and American Apparel nail polish. Hope you enjoyed!

A couple more photos from my instagram (@thestylishwanderer) and a little peek into my daily life over the past month. I had my first college interview today and all abuzz with the prospects that lie ahead. Vintage bracelets, Timex watch, silver dome ring from Wasteland and A Peace Treaty brass ring. My dad got a new puppy and named her Nova! I've been needing a baby in my life. Something I don't necessarily talk about on the blog is my affinity for films and film soundtracks. I guess I should be upfront about this considering I want to study film in college. Pixar in Concert @ the Hollywood Bowl was amazing to see. Watching clips from all the different Pixar films that I grew up on in one place was really incredible. A photo of me was featured in a recent Teen Vogue! I'm guessing Naomi Nevitt had something to do with it. Thanks Naomi! Went for Belgian Waffles at the crepe place in the Farmer's Market with my mom. Do it yourself whip cream and sugar was fun, (interac

Okay, you want the honest truth? It's been too hot to blog. The heat wave in Hollywood has zapped any sort of internet force out of me... although, I'm also not gonna lie: the crazy buzz of senior year has gotten in the way too. It feels amazing. I'm having so much fun. Everything ahead of me is so exciting; a day doesn't go by when I'm not studying for SATs, writing essays, talking with counselors, or emailing interviewers. It's college prep 24/7, and it's phenomenal. I bought this skirt in a thrift store when I was up North this summer. It's Tommy Bahama and I feel like I belong in Hawaii when I wear it. My mom also has a habit of bringing beautiful lace bras/corsets home, and this one is no exception. I have an identical white one that I love to layer underneath. The only type of layering I can stand right now is lingerie layering, and you should too. Get on the bandwagon, it's a good one. Tommy Bahama wrap skirt, vintage black lace bralette
