Cotton Candy

When I first saw this jacket hanging unassumingly on an outside sale rack I kind of knew immediately it should be mine. It's my crazy version of the fur jacket, since I don't really wear fur. The inside silk lining is stunning, and clearly this wacky thing photographs incredibly well. I know it's not Sherlock Holmes inspired, but it was just too amazing to pass up. These necklaces were such a happy treat to find in my mailbox last week. I love the dichotomy of rose gold rosary that contains both super modern nuts and then a pendant that is in the shape of a seed from a willow tree. Mr. Kate sure does know spunky jewelry, and I don't even use the word spunky. Oscars? How do you feel? Thoughts? Impressions? In a perfect world Jessica Chastain would've won Best Supporting, Terrence Malick would've won Best Director for Tree of Life, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy would've won for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Drive would've won for Best Film of the Year. I think

Variation on a Theme Part 2

This is part two! The vest was a gift from my mother in lieu of how much I want to dress like dapper Sherlock Holmes, and I'm so happy to have it in my arsenal. Isn't it interesting how only one piece can change an entire ensemble? This dress was my grandmothers, which then passed down to my mother, who wore it while living in New York. I've had it ever since I lived in Oregon, but finally donned it last June to wear to my final presentation in Chemistry class. The project we were expected turn in that day was either going to make or break our end of semester grade. I feel like wearing this dress helped me jump the hurtle towards that A. Such a great garment. I want to also take this time to thank my readers. Taking comments off was an interesting experiment for me because I wanted to see how it changed the entire platform of blogging. At first I thought of it as a transformation from public forum to art space, but that doesn't quite fit the bill, either. I don't k

On Sunday I had a shoot with Naomi Nevitt from TeenVogue for some online content. Can't wait to show you the photos, but for now, you'll have these, which I took after the shoot. I wore this outfit to the flea market where I picked up the most amazing swing coat from the Possession Vintage booth. Will share soon. These photos are part 1 of 2. Ever since I started the blog I've wanted to take an outfit and change one thing about it and then show the variation/differences between the two, how a whole idea can turn into something else entirely just by one article of clothing. Finally, I managed to pull it off here. Stay tuned later this week for how I change this one! H&M sweater, vintage white lace dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs laceup heels, vintage rhinestone necklace, Timex and JCrew watch, vintage silver bracelet, Pamela Love ring, Marc by Marc Jacobs leather bag.

Happy Valentines Day

Fell in love with this wine-colored American Apparel pajama set online and felt it was perfect to debut seeing as Valentines day is just around the corner. I bought it a size bigger to enjoy that boxy, oversized quality that requires the wearer to enjoy life a little more and not take themselves so seriously. It's also got a little bit of a gentleman's sleepwear feel to it, which I'm kind of in love with. The gold piping is also fantastic.. All in all, lovely little pair of top and shorts. While putting together this post, I was contemplating the idea of having fashion collections for Valentines day. I personally can't stand ne'er-do-wells who complain about the holiday, however, assuming I agree with the idea that all Valentines day is a "commercial" holiday why don't we take it a step further? What if we lived in a world where there weren't three (if you're counting resort) runway presentations a year, but four , meaning there would be ent

Airport

I know airport dressing is a hot button issue, so I always like to show what I tend to wear. I don't understand the whole mentality of dressing down to get more "comfortable." Flights aren't that uncomfortable. Anyway, this is what I wore to fly to Portland on Friday for the weekend. I've found that this little dress I bought from ebay is the perfect "throw-on-and-go" dress, (which is something I am always looking for). Also, this phenomenal cashmere sweater is a gift from Blogger's Wardrobe and I can't get enough of it. Thank you also to Iconemesis for this A-W-E-S-O-M-E case. It's so elegant. I am in love. Vintage floral dress from Frolic Vintage , Arelalizza gray cardigan via Blogger's Wardrobe , Iconemesis iPhone case, Tiffany & Co. Watch, vintage bracelets and rings. Oh, and we parked our car at The Hilton while we were away, and I had to take photos of the perfect decorations. How crazy is that massive amethyst? When I was up
