These are some images that have been floating around my desktop for the past month. I think they're perfect for this transition time of August. I'm feeling a lot of denim-- loose denim overalls, boyfriend jeans, high-waisted mom jeans, denim on denim... I want to do it all. Like I said in the post before , I'm also feeling embroidered tops and dresses, like that amazing one Natalia Vodianova is wearing above. I've had these photos on my computer for 6+ months and finally decided it was time to put them on the blog. I love them. Super simple, interesting. Trousers, oversized sweaters, black boots, overalls, a little floral, darker colors. Amazing. I wish I knew where they were from...? I'm afraid that's the curse of storing images for later, you lose the origin of their birth. Edit: I spoke too soon. The label is Insight, you can buy here and here . There goes my college funds. It was rainy for the first time all fall in Los Angeles today. To say it was magical couldn't even begin to describe the city's atmosphere. Rainy LA makes me want to listen to Ravel.  Promise regular posting will resume soon. College and school and the SAT and piano and friends and a boy have gotten in the way. Expect something this weekend.

Tweed overcoats, black scarves, wool vests, white button-ups, tailored separates, and that funny little hat ... I'm finally posting the inspiration board for Sherlock Holmes that I made weeks ago! This is everything Sherlock related. From the old classics to BBC's freaking genius rendition with Benedict Cumberbatch, (I love him), to Robert Downey Jr. & Jude Law in the most recent film s, it's all here. I also included some stills of Rachel McAdams as Sherlock's great rival (and lover) Irene Adler. Even though I'm enjoying the manly/dapper vibe here, I marvel at her ability to switch from a blue stain ballgown to tweed mens chaps in one film and still look beautiful, feminine, lovely etc. etc. in all of it. I want my wardrobe to have that type of versatility while still maintaining a common thread. This idea is coming closer to fruition, especially considering that I just unwrapped a tweed blazer that arrived from the cleaners today. Slowly but surely my Holm...

This year was filled with a lot of greatness. You can look back on the year and say it was terrible just as easily as saying it was wonderful, but I think if you really think about it, even the terrible moments can be considered key in developing and becoming the lovely human being that you are today. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? I can think of many times this past year that were really hard, (school, boys, friends, etc.) but without it, I wouldn't be where I am today. This year I've figured out what I want to do with my life, the company I would like to keep, and how I would like to spend my days. 2011 was wonderful. Hard, but wonderful. However, just between you and me, 2012 is going to kick ass . I am currently obsessed with floral crowns/headdresses for summer. I was in Oregon for a couple days and made about six of them, three I kept for myself. I took a bunch of photos with them on and I'll be rolling them out for the next couple of weeks as part of a series. For now, enjoy this floral crown inspiration board.

Collected all of these over the summer. You're not sick of it yet, are you? Picked up an intense vintage coat from the flea market on Sunday. I say intense because the buttons are bigger than my eyes and probably worth a small fortune if sold by themselves at a button store... or something of that same feeling.
